    What this tool measures

A reliable analytics setup has three layers working together. This check evaluates each one and tells you which layer is holding you back.

    Data Governance

Are your data sources consistent and trustworthy? This covers UTM naming conventions, source of truth, and event tracking standards. Governance problems are invisible until they're expensive — fragmented channel data, "Unassigned" traffic piling up, and ROAS numbers nobody believes. If UTM governance is something you're working on, our UTM best practices guide for GA4 covers the full framework.

    Reporting Automation

Are decisions actually being made from data, or does getting an answer require a manual pull every time? This layer covers dashboard usage, reporting cadence, and how much engineering involvement is needed to get basic answers. Most teams underestimate how much time is lost here.

    Full-Funnel Visibility

Can you see from first touch through to retention and LTV, or does your tracking stop at the conversion event? Full-funnel visibility is what separates teams that optimize campaigns from teams that optimize revenue. If your tracking foundation needs work, our Data Foundation service is where most engagements start.

    How to interpret your score

A score of 1 to 3 means the fundamentals need attention before anything else. Attribution models, advanced dashboards, and predictive analytics all depend on clean underlying data. Building on a weak foundation means the outputs will be wrong in ways that are hard to detect.

A score of 4 to 7 means you have something to build on. The gaps are usually specific and fixable — a UTM governance doc, a proper GA4 event schema, or moving recurring reports out of spreadsheets. These are high-leverage fixes that tend to pay off quickly.

A score of 8 to 10 means the foundation is solid. The opportunity at this level is usually in advanced modeling — incrementality testing, LTV forecasting, or media mix modeling — rather than fixing broken tracking.
